Chapter 273 Human Females Fleeing in the Beast World 1
Chapter 273 Human Females Fleeing in the Beast World 1
"Ouch, my head hurts so much."
Shen Chumo slowly awoke from her daze, feeling a splitting headache, as if a thousand needles were pricking her brain.
She instinctively raised her hand to rub her temples, only to find her hands locked by heavy iron chains; the cold touch instantly brought her back to her senses.
"Where is this?"
Shen Chumo looked around; the small, dark dungeon was filled with a putrid stench.
The nearby dungeon held many people, all dressed in identical orange jumpsuits, their hair disheveled, their faces filthy, like soulless shells, numbly huddled in a corner, unresponsive to everything around them.
Shen Chumo was startled.
"Have I been kidnapped?"
She was sleeping in her bed at home just a moment ago, how did she end up in this godforsaken place?
A cold glint appeared in Shen Chumo's eyes as he tried to recall memories of this place, but his head was throbbing and he got nowhere.
Just then, a series of heavy, dragging footsteps approached from afar, and then Shen Chumo witnessed a shocking scene.
Several monsters with roe deer heads appeared. They were hunched over, and their tiny, beady eyes gleamed in the darkness as they sized up the people in the dungeon, a malicious smile on their faces.
The people who were originally huddled up immediately lowered their heads when they saw the monster appear, afraid of meeting its eyes.
Is this cosplay, or some kind of monster? Could it be that she wasn't kidnapped, but instead time-traveled?
Shen Chumo was filled with suspicion, feeling that everything before her was so absurd that it was beyond the realm of common sense.
The roe deer-headed monster suddenly stopped in front of Shen Chumo's dungeon. Shen Chumo's heart clenched, and she subconsciously moved back, her back pressed tightly against the damp, cold wall.
The chill seeped through her clothes and pierced straight to her bones, making her shiver involuntarily.
The roe deer-headed monster tilted its head, its beady eyes gleaming eerily in the darkness, as if examining a rare object.
Its rough claws slowly scraped across the fence, making a grating "squeak, squeak" sound. Each scratch felt like it was scraping against Shen Chumo's heart, making her heart beat even faster.
"It's her. Take her out." The roe deer-headed monster finally spoke, his voice hoarse like the strains of a broken bellows.
Before Shen Chumo could react, she was roughly dragged up by two burly guards with pig heads and human bodies, who then unlocked the shackles on her hands.
They were incredibly strong, and Shen Chumo felt as if her arms were about to be torn off, causing her to gasp in pain.
"What are you doing? Let me go!" Shen Chumo struggled fiercely. The two brute guards were surprised that this seemingly weak little female was actually quite strong, and they almost failed to catch her.
But the guards wouldn't give up so easily. One of them, enraged, raised his large, fat hand and slapped Shen Chumo hard across the face.
Instantly, Shen Chumo's cheeks swelled up and blood seeped from the corners of her mouth, but she gritted her teeth and didn't utter a sound, only glaring fiercely at the other person.
Shen Chumo was dragged along like this, and she saw more and more horrifying sights.
In the dungeons on both sides of the corridor, all sorts of people were imprisoned. They were all wearing the same orange jumpsuits, with messy hair, dirty faces, and empty and desperate eyes, like walking corpses whose souls had been taken away.
Some people had shocking wounds on their bodies, with dried blood congealed on their skin, emitting a faint smell of blood.
Some people lay motionless on the ground, with countless flies swarming around their wounds, as if they had been dead for a long time.
The roe deer man gave Shen Chumo a lightsaber, and she was shoved into a huge, open circular area where a deafening roar instantly engulfed her.
She looked up and saw that the stands were densely packed with monsters with animal heads and human bodies. They bared their teeth and claws, roared and howled, and their eyes gleamed with bloodlust, as if they were eagerly anticipating an extremely bloody carnival.
Only the people sitting in the first few rows look human, but upon closer inspection, they still have animal symbols on their bodies to varying degrees, such as ears and patterns on parts of their skin.
Shen Chumo felt a chill run down her spine, becoming even more certain that this was a completely unfamiliar and insane world, and that she had truly transmigrated to such a bizarre world.
But that's not the most important thing right now.
A man with leopard ears, dressed in a suit, appeared on the platform. He stood ramrod straight, and the well-tailored suit added to his sharp and authoritative air.
If you ignore the ears on his head and the tail behind him, at first glance, you might really think he's a human.
Holding the microphone, he announced loudly, "Distinguished guests."
He deliberately drew out his words, "At this moment, the seemingly weak and petite human female standing in the center of the arena has mustered up her courage to challenge our beast realm's undisputed legend today—Andrew, who has an undefeated record of 99 consecutive battles!"
When he said the name "Andrew," he deliberately raised his voice and suddenly waved his arm, pointing to the entrance of the passage on the side of the arena, as if the powerful figure would make a domineering appearance at any moment with his guidance.
"This Andrew is a renowned powerhouse in our Beast Realm," the leopard-eared man said, his eyes narrowing slightly, an exaggerated expression of reverence appearing on his face.
"He possesses immense strength, having once overturned a giant boulder with his bare hands. In past battles, no matter how fierce the opponent, he was able to crush them with absolute superiority."
"And now, our brave little human female dares to stand up and face the mighty Andrew. This courage, though somewhat presumptuous, is truly 'admirable'!"
At this point, a slightly mocking smile appeared on his lips. "Now, here comes our most exciting moment—let's place our bets and guess how long this human female can survive Andrew's relentless onslaught."
His voice, carried through the loudspeaker, resounded throughout the venue with a barely perceptible hoarseness, yet it was extremely rousing, prompting the monsters in the stands to cheer and respond in waves.
As soon as the leopard-eared man finished speaking, several options appeared at the top of the screen: 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, a few minutes, ten minutes, etc. At the very bottom, there was another option: Shen Chumo wins.
The stands erupted in noise as monsters with animal heads and human bodies, or human bodies and animal features, shouted and eagerly pulled out their betting devices.
Shen Chumo watched as the 10-second and 30-second options continued to climb.
The last option remained untouched, since who would believe that a human, especially a female, could defeat an orc?
This wasn't a human fighting competition at all; it was just an exhibition match where orcs slaughtered humans.
Shen Chumo's breathing quickened, and a look of confusion crossed her face. She didn't know why she had suddenly transmigrated, and why she had such a disastrous start to her life.
But she was certain that she wanted to live, that she would live no matter what.
Shen Chumo gripped the only weapon in her hand. This lightsaber was only meant to add some fun to the competition; otherwise, a one-sided massacre would be too boring.
In the VIP room, a man with golden eyes looked at Shen Chumo's eyes on the big screen. He sat on a spacious and comfortable leather sofa, wearing a gorgeous black robe with a dazzling gemstone inlaid at the collar, which shimmered mysteriously under the light.
The man raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.
