Chapter 1201 - 1197: You’re a Man—That’s Why I’m Suffering
The word ’one’ had barely left his mouth when the door suddenly swung open. Before Luke Land could make sense of the situation, he felt a powerful gust of air rushing towards him. With a crisp ’smack,’ Eva Miller used all her strength to land a heavy slap on his face, turning his head to the side.
Luke was stunned for a full two seconds, then pretended nothing had happened as he regained his composure.
"I say..." He chuckled lightly, a trace of self-mockery in his smile, and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with his thumb, "You didn’t need to be so violent."
"This is called violence?" Eva snorted coldly, "If it were real violence, I should have crippled this scumbag, making sure you could never be a man again."
"..."
She must have forgotten how this scumbag made her scream with pleasure last night, right?
"Little Chili, if I can’t be a man, you’d be suffering too."
"Screw you, only if you’re a man would I be in pain!" Heaven knows, she didn’t even have the strength to straighten up now.
"You!" Eva pointed toward the door, "You can go back, don’t stay in my house anymore."
As expected, the thing he least wanted to happen still occurred.
"Look, it’s pouring rain outside, and the roads are in bad condition. Just let me stay for one night, and I’ll leave first thing in the morning."
"No, no!" Eva shook her head decisively. How could she possibly let Luke stay? She felt that between them, it was just like the farmer and the snake; if she let him stay out of kindness, what if he turned around and bit her?
Luke Land was persistently shameless. If he wanted to keep lying in bed and not leave, Eva probably couldn’t do anything about it.
Eva’s frustration at his shamelessness was boiling, and since words were useless, she’d resort to action, though now...
Heaven, moving her body even slightly was painful to death.
"Alright, stop fussing." Seeing how pained she was, Luke decided not to argue with her any longer, "You sleep in the room, I’ll sleep on the sofa. If you’re worried I’ll do something to you, you can just lock the door."
With that, he grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his lower body, then headed to the living room. However, the single-seater sofa in the living room was indeed a bit too small for him; no matter how he adjusted his position, he couldn’t find a comfortable way to lie down.
Seeing this, Eva felt a bit guilty at first, but then she recalled how he had taken advantage of her while drunk, and her heart began to fume.
So she ignored him and just closed the door, locking it behind her.
Lying in bed, she tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.
Suddenly, as if she remembered something, she abruptly sat up in bed, hesitated for two seconds, then opened the door and walked out.
Luke Land was contemplating how to sleep in such a cramped space when he saw her open the door. He thought she was feeling ’compassionate’ and was going to let him back into the room to sleep.
"Luke Land." Before he could speak, she had already started talking, "I, I want to ask you something."
A slight, uneasy blush crossed her face, and he wondered what was going on with her.
"Ask away." He walked up to her and said, lowering his head.
"You, I..." Eva stumbled over her words for a long time.
Luke frowned, wondering what it could be that was making her so hesitant to speak.
