Chapter 56 Pants Not Even Off
Chapter 56 Pants Not Even Off
Li Zhengyi gave up.
He knelt down beside the bed, his face level with hers.
"So what exactly do you want to do?"
"Stay with me."
Her voice was already slurring, and her eyelids were drooping, but she wouldn't let go of his wrist.
"Sleep...stay with me...what if you disappear again? I have so many questions for you, and I haven't repaid you for the thanks you owe me."
Li Zhengyi closed his eyes for a moment.
He had a feeling he wouldn't be sleeping on the floor today.
He originally intended to be a gentleman and let Bae Joo-hyun sleep in the bed alone.
He sighed resignedly.
"OK."
He stood up.
Bae Joo-hyun's eyes lit up instantly.
"...But let go, I'm going to change my clothes."
He went into the bathroom, changed into a clean T-shirt, and splashed his face with cold water.
The face in the mirror looked tired.
I have dark circles under my eyes, and my lips are a bit chapped.
"Li Zhengyi, she's a patient now, she won't remember anything tomorrow."
"It's all due to the medicine."
"All of them."
When he came out of the bathroom, Bae Joo-hyun was almost asleep, her eyelids almost completely closed.
But when she heard footsteps, she still tried to move to the side to make room for him.
The movement was as clumsy as a seal struggling to flip over.
Li Zhengyi lay down on the half of the bed she had vacated.
The bed was small, and the two of them squeezed together, shoulder to shoulder, arm to arm.
He could smell the shampoo in her hair.
Before he could even find a comfortable position, Bae Joo-hyun instinctively moved closer to him, like a small animal that had found a heat source.
She rested her head on his shoulder, draped her arm over his chest, and crossed one leg over his.
She looked like a koala hugging a eucalyptus tree.
Li Zhengyi was pinned down by her and couldn't move, staring at the ceiling.
He was not a cushion, not a pillow, not bedding, not a koala habitat, and certainly not her real boyfriend.
He is now her "fake boyfriend," being held by a woman who can't even take care of herself, covered in her hair and breath, and that deadly leg.
Bae Joo-hyun.
"Um……"
Do you think I have a very good temper?
"Um……"
"Do you think I wouldn't dare kick you off the cliff?"
"Um……"
"OK."
He said.
Li Zhengyi closed his eyes.
I could feel her breath on my neck.
Warm.
One by one.
She fell asleep.
He can't sleep.
It's already this late, and I haven't even had dinner yet, how am I supposed to fall asleep?
After a long while, he gently removed her legs from his body.
It was just moved aside, and then it was put back on.
Then it was moved away.
And then it came up again.
Li Zhengyi gave up.
This woman is so persistent even when she's asleep.
Forget it.
Let's just go to sleep.
Just consider it as going to bed early and waking up early.
It's just that this time is a bit too early.
Li Zhengyi was dreaming.
He dreamt that he was still on that plane, the cabin door was open, and a strong wind was blowing in. Lee Woo-bin was holding his hand, and his mouth was opening and closing as he said something.
Then he woke up.
I woke up very suddenly, without any transition.
Because he received a crisp, loud slap across the face.
Snapped.
"abnormal!!"
Then came a second scream, higher and sharper.
"Go to hell!!!"
This was followed by a flying kick.
It's not a metaphor.
It was a real kick.
The ball of her foot kicked him in the side of his waist with ridiculous force, knocking him off the bed.
Li Zhengyi fell to the floor, nearly hitting the corner of the table with the back of his head.
He sat up, looking completely bewildered.
On the bed, Bae Joo-hyun was wrapped in a blanket and huddled in the corner, her hands gripping the edge of the blanket tightly, with only her eyes and forehead showing.
Those eyes that usually carried a hint of aloofness.
panic.
anger.
If two more lasers were applied, Li Zhengyi's head would probably have been burned through.
"What...what did you do to me?!"
Her voice trembled, and her eyes were red-rimmed; she looked exactly like an innocent girl who had been violated.
"Aish!"
Li Zhengyi sat on the ground, one hand clutching his waist, the other supporting himself on the floor, his mind not yet fully engaged.
He took a breath and stood up.
"Can't you at least figure out the situation before you hit someone?"
"I know perfectly well! You took advantage of me while I was asleep, you, you... pervert, lecher, bad guy, big bad guy."
"Touch your crotch; you haven't even taken your pants off yet."
Li Zheng pointed at her, his tone turning cold.
Bae Joo-hyun was stunned.
"Touch it."
Li Zhengyi crossed his arms and leaned against the wall, giving off a "go ahead" look.
"Whether your underwear is still there or not, you can tell by touching it."
Bae Joo-hyun hesitated for three seconds.
Then, with a very cautious and careful gesture, he reached his hand under the covers and touched it.
His expression changed.
It's not anger.
It's confusion.
"exist……"
"Okay, then let me touch your shirt again. Did you touch it? Are you there?"
"……exist."
"Okay. Then let me ask you..."
Li Zhengyi spoke slowly and deliberately.
"Did I take off your underwear?"
Bae Joo-hyun opened her mouth.
“No, no…”
Her voice trailed off, and her defensive posture relaxed slightly, but she still didn't loosen her grip on the blanket.
"Then why did you hit me?"
Li Zhengyi pointed to the red mark on his face that hadn't faded yet.
"Taked a taxi."
He pointed to his side.
"Kicked."
Bae Joo-hyun bit her lip.
"But...but you sleep in the same bed as me...how can you sleep in the same bed as me?"
Li Zhengyi returned to his chair and sat down, crossing his legs.
"Who insisted on cuddling me while we slept last night?"
"Who is it that cries whenever I'm not clinging to her?"
Bae Joo-hyun's defensive stance loosened, then tightened again, then loosened again.
"I...I don't know what you're talking about..."
Her voice clearly lacked strength.
"have no idea?"
Li Zheng smiled.
It's that kind of "you're finished" laugh.
"Then think about it carefully. What was your last memory? Why did you lose consciousness? Why did you end up in my rented apartment after you were drugged, instead of your own?"
Bae Joo-hyun's expression began to change.
She began to recall.
"I...I remember your father's men called me again...saying...saying you've returned."
She spoke slowly, as if piecing together a jigsaw puzzle scattered on the ground.
"Then I drank a cup of coffee..."
"And then I don't remember."
She looked up at Li Zhengyi, her eyes saying, "And then what?"
"Then my dad told me to take you away."
Li Zhengyi spoke very briefly.
"So I carried you out of my house, downstairs, took a taxi (it took forty minutes), and then carried you up to these third floors. Then you clung to me and wouldn't let go, so I had no choice but to sleep with you in this bed for the night. Report complete. Any questions?"
Bae Joo-hyun fell silent.
She pointed at Li Zhengyi.
"You really are a bad person! Your whole family are bad people too!"
"How did it break?"
"You drugged me! Aren't you bad people?"
"Then go ahead and curse my dad. I'm the one who brought you out here. Look where you are now!"
Bae Joo-hyun then slowly turned her head to carefully examine the room.
Cheap roller blinds, a wardrobe with peeling paint, and a cheap fluorescent light on the ceiling.
It's not Lee Jae-hyun's mansion.
It is Li Zhengyi's rented room.
Her expression began to become complicated.
Could he be telling the truth?
Did he bring her out of that place?
Did it pull her out of that dark room, that suffocating interrogation, that nightmare she thought she would never wake up from?
Doesn't that mean he saved her again?
