Chapter 5. Brother Complex...Sister Complex?
Chapter 5. Brother Complex...Sister Complex?
In her dream, Hoshino Kaoru saw countless amounts of money.
The money he saw, floating in the sky and under his feet, was so much that it could fill an entire building.
Just as he reached out to touch the banknotes, thunder suddenly roared across the world. Then, the sky gradually shattered, and a face that he felt was extremely familiar filled the entire sky.
"Brother! What are you doing?!"
—That's my younger sister Rin's face.
Waking up from the dream, my arms, which had been in the same position for a long time, felt a bit sore.
Xun stared blankly at the clock on the wall, finding it hard to believe that she had actually slept on the table all night.
Perhaps it was because of his sleeping posture; even though he had slept for eight hours, he felt even more tired when he woke up.
That feeling reminded him of his past life, when he often worked overtime until the early hours of the morning and became a corporate slave.
"I just turned 18, it can't be that bad."
He was rubbing his lower back, intending to wash up first, when he heard someone coming downstairs.
He looked closely and saw that it was his younger sister, Hoshino Rin, wearing pajamas, with her hands on her hips, looking at him with a dissatisfied expression.
"Good morning, Rin, you're here today too..."
"Shut up! Brother, explain yourself, what's going on with that woman upstairs!"
Hoshino Rin understood that her brother was an adult and she, as his sister, had no right to discipline him about how chaotic his private life was.
However, even so, she has her own bottom line.
She absolutely forbade her brother from bringing other women into the bedroom; the wooden house was already poorly soundproofed...it would affect her rest!
"Answer me quickly!"
Rin walked over and glared at Kaoru with a questioning expression.
Behind her at the top of the stairs, Mizukami Orina, like a child who had done something wrong and was afraid to face her parents, peeked out and nervously looked at the two of them.
"Mizukami had a fight with her parents and ran away from home. Rin, as you know, there's a serial killer in the neighborhood lately, and I'm worried about her safety, so I'm planning to have her stay at my house for a while."
Xun recounted the events in the simplest possible way.
At the same time, he carefully observed the face behind him, afraid that there might be a lie in what he had just said.
"Oh, brother, where did you sleep last night?"
Hearing him say that, Rin's expression softened a little.
With her arms crossed over her noticeably heaving chest, she acted every inch the older sister.
"He slept on the table all night."
Xun pointed to the dining table behind her.
Rin glared at him, reached out her right hand and pinched his waist, muttering in a very soft voice.
"Idiot, you could have just told me... that it's okay to sleep with me... for something like this..."
"Hmm? Did Rin just say something?"
"They didn't say anything!"
Rin turned around, brushed past Mizukami who was peeking at her from the stairwell, and went upstairs.
Soon, the sound of a door closing came from upstairs.
"What's wrong, Mizukami-kun?"
Hoshino Kaoru shifted her attention to the body of the woman who was half-exposed in the water.
After sleeping in the room for one night, she clearly relaxed her guard and was no longer as wary as she had been at the beginning.
"I've come to apologize to Hoshino-san."
As he approached him, Mizukami bent down and bowed politely.
"I'm sorry, I said some bad things to Hoshino-san yesterday. I misunderstood you, please don't take it to heart."
Kaoru was somewhat surprised to see that this sharp-tongued young lady was willing to lower herself and take the initiative to apologize.
As he reached out to straighten her body, Mizusaki stopped bowing.
His outstretched hands froze in mid-air, and the atmosphere around him became somewhat awkward.
"Ah...it's okay, I didn't mind those words."
"That's good. I'm relieved to hear Hoshino-kun say that. I also have a question I'd like to ask you."
"Hmm? What's the problem?"
"Hoshino-kun, if I'm not mistaken, you really are a complete siscon, right?"
......ha?
......
After a while, Rin, who had changed into her work clothes, came downstairs.
Seeing that there was only one person on the water downstairs, she paused for a moment and instinctively asked, "Where is my brother?"
"Hoshino-san went to the nearby convenience store to buy necessities."
"Oh...I understand."
During a break in the conversation, Rin began to scrutinize the woman sleeping in her brother's bedroom.
She was wearing a brown uniform jacket paired with a gray plaid skirt. The fabric at the chest bulged slightly like a small hill, and her calves were covered with black knee-high socks. Judging by her figure alone... apart from having a slight advantage in height, she was clearly inferior to me in other aspects.
She turned her attention to the other person's face.
Her long, straight, glossy black hair cascaded over her shoulders. Her large, almond-shaped eyes softened her features, and she had a high nose bridge and cute facial lines. Her appearance was somewhere between sexy and cute. The color of her uniform and the bow... suggested that she was a third-year high school student, just like her brother.
"My name is Mizukami Orina. So, how should I address you?"
The other person politely extended their right hand.
Her fingers were slender and long, clearly the result of a flower raised in a greenhouse, never having experienced the harsh realities of the world.
Rin casually shook hands with him and said her name.
"Rin, you can call me whatever you like."
"Rin... I understand. I have a question for you."
Rin gave a curt "Oh," clearly showing her impatience.
She had long felt a great sense of imbalance in her heart.
She had hardly ever slept in her brother's room.
But this woman did something that even she couldn't easily do. Even though this guy's figure is far inferior to hers, she really doesn't understand what her brother is thinking!
"Rin-kun, if I'm not mistaken, you're a brother complex person, right?"
Mizukami said this in a calm tone.
Just then, Kaoru returned home and overheard what she had just said.
"Huh? Brother complex? I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about..."
Upon seeing her brother return and overhearing their conversation, Rin's expression visibly turned panicked.
Fortunately, the first customer of the day walked into the ramen shop at that moment, interrupting the conversation that the two were in the middle of.
"Excuse me, could I have a bowl of Mapo Tofu Ramen?"
"Ah, just a moment."
She realized what was happening, went into the kitchen, and started getting busy.
"Mizukami-kun, these are for you. Go wash up."
Kaoru placed the Don Quijote orange plastic bag containing some daily necessities aside and followed Rin into the kitchen, intending to serve guests with her.
"Two people who aren't very honest...that's probably a good way to describe them."
Looking out from the water, one sees a plastic bag placed to the side, containing basic daily necessities.
It can be used for washing and bathing.
She knew that all of this was prepared for her.
They've received special treatment...
"These things... wouldn't be enough if we only worked for one day?"
"I... need to do something else."
......
......
"Ah, I've got it."
