Chapter 81: A Five-City All-in Gamble!
Chapter 81: A Five-City All-in Gamble!
The banners around the arena fluttered in the mountain wind.
The powerful figures from both the south and north of the Yangtze River stood on either side, creating a tense atmosphere.
The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder, ready to explode at any moment; even breathing was tense.
Chu Hongyuan stared intently at the middle-aged man opposite him, who exuded an imposing aura.
My palms were sweating, and my back felt a little tense.
Chu Hongyuan lowered his voice to a whisper in Lu Jingchen's ear:
"The one leading the group on the other side is Qian Wanshan, the head of the Zou family in Jiangbei."
Lu Jingchen raised the corners of his mouth slightly and nodded gently.
Lu Jingchen said:
"Then congratulations in advance to Boss Bai."
"This wave should be enough to take over at least two of their cities."
"It's like a piece of fatty meat delivered right to your door; why not take advantage of it?"
On the opposing side, Qian Wanshan whispered in the ear of Xuan Yang Zhenren, who was in charge of the arbitration.
He muttered a few words to himself, then glanced menacingly at the Bai family.
Master Xuanyang nodded slightly, then took a step forward.
He gathered his strength in his diaphragm and shouted, the sound reverberating throughout the entire arena.
Master Xuan Yang's authoritative tone drowned out the clamor of the entire hall:
Are any members of the Bai family from Jiangnan present?
"The Zou family of Jiangbei is willing to wager the territory of three cities!"
"Does the Bai family dare to accept this bet?"
These words immediately caused an uproar, with discussions surging like a tidal wave.
"Holy crap! Playing this high? All-in on all three cities?"
"The Zou family is determined to fight the Bai family to the death!"
"The Bai family is likely to suffer a defeat this time; the Zou family has brought a ruthless person with them!"
Lu Jingchen turned his head to look at Chu Hongyuan, a mocking smile in his eyes.
Lu Jingchen said:
"Boss Bai, you've practically handed him the opportunity."
"Should we take this opportunity to bite off a big chunk of their flesh?"
Chu Hongyuan looked at Lu Jingchen's confident expression.
A fierce glint flashed in his eyes, and he gritted his teeth.
He took a big step forward and stood at the very front of the ring.
Chu Hongyuan raised his arms and shouted, his voice echoing throughout the entire arena:
"Master Xuanyang! The Bai family has accepted!"
"But I demand that the stakes be raised to five cities!"
"Whether the Zou family dares to accept the offer is just a matter of one question!"
As soon as he said that, the surroundings fell into dead silence.
The entire place was as if it had been muted; you could hear a pin drop.
Everyone was stunned, staring at Chu Hongyuan as if he were a madman.
To everyone's surprise, Qian Wanshan didn't panic at all; instead, he revealed a mocking smile.
Qian Wanshan threw his head back and laughed loudly:
"Okay! I'll take it!"
"I'd like to see what makes you, Chu Hongyuan, think you can beat my second uncle!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a figure in gray robes pounced on a rabbit like a hawk.
He leaped onto the high platform with a roar, and the bluestone slabs beneath his feet instantly cracked inch by inch.
The old man had white hair and beard, and his aura was terrifying; he was none other than Qian Qianjue.
The entire audience erupted in cheers and exclamations.
"Holy crap! It's Qian Qianjue! That old monster actually came out of seclusion!"
"I heard he reached the threshold of Grandmaster ten years ago! The Bai family is doomed this time!"
Amidst the gasps of the crowd, Lu Jingchen put his hands in his pockets.
I strolled slowly up the steps, as if I were wandering through my own backyard.
There was no sense of tension whatsoever; he seemed completely just there for the fun of it.
The crowd below the stage exchanged bewildered glances, their faces filled with surprise and confusion.
Everyone looked at each other, thinking they were seeing things.
Qian Wanshan pointed at Lu Jingchen on the stage and sneered, his face full of disdain.
Qian Wanshan said:
"Chu Hongyuan, you're not kidding, are you?"
"They sent this kid, who hasn't even grown his first hair yet, to fight my second uncle?"
"That's absolutely hilarious! I think you've lost so much you're blinded by greed, and you've given up entirely!"
Qian Qianjue stood in the center of the arena with his hands behind his back, his eyes full of contempt.
Qian Qianjue said:
"Let some greenhorn fight me."
"Are you really that arrogant and ignorant? Are you tired of living?"
Lu Jingchen beckoned to Qian Qianjue with his finger, looking completely indifferent.
Lu Jingchen said:
"Stop your whining and just do it."
"If you're too late, you might not even get a chance to raise your hand."
Qian Qianjue's face instantly darkened, and a strong murderous aura appeared on his face.
He was like a volcano about to erupt, his murderous aura practically overflowing.
Qian Qianjue let out a deafening roar:
"Arrogant brat! You're asking for death!"
A close-up shot zoomed in, showing Qian Qianjue stomping his foot hard on the arena.
He shot off like an arrow released from a bow, accompanied by a piercing whistling sound.
He charged straight at Lu Jingchen, his fist so fierce it could cut through stone.
Lu Jingchen stood motionless, like a nail driven into the ground.
He only managed to dodge the punch when it was almost hitting his face.
Qian Qianjue's fully charged killing move grazed past Lu Jingchen's clothes.
I missed completely, almost stumbling from the impact.
Lu Jingchen sneered on the spot, his tone full of disdain.
Lu Jingchen said:
"You can't deny getting old."
"With your skills, you couldn't even kill a snail."
"She's just making a fool of herself."
Qian Qianjue was immediately struck on the back by these words, and his anger flared up.
He roared, his speed increased dramatically again, and he became a blur.
They relentlessly attacked Lu Jingchen, each strike aimed to kill him; they were incredibly ruthless.
But Lu Jingchen strolled around his own yard as if it were his own backyard.
They dodged left and right, their steps light and airy, without the slightest hint of panic.
He never even took his hands out of his pockets.
Chun Chun was just walking the old man around, which stunned everyone present.
Chu Hongyuan, watching from below the stage, was so excited that he clenched his fists.
He turned his head sharply to look at Su Muyue beside him, his voice trembling with excitement.
Chu Hongyuan said:
"My God! Master Lu is really just having fun!"
"This strength is outrageous! It's like a complete annihilation!"
Su Muyue's beautiful eyes darted around, watching the composed figure on the arena.
He laughed along, his eyes filled with undisguised pride and trust.
Su Muyue said:
"Otherwise, why do you think he would dare to take on a bet involving five cities?"
"In his eyes, this old man is no different from a clown jumping around."
On the arena, Qian Qianjue looked at Lu Jingchen with undisguised disdain.
His eyes instantly turned bloodshot, and he went berserk, his anger burning ever brighter.
All that remained in his mind was the thought of tearing the kid in front of him to pieces.
His moves became increasingly ruthless, but also increasingly chaotic, riddled with flaws.
The mountain wind whipped the banners into a fluttering sound, and everyone in the audience held their breath.
Everyone realized that this was no longer a life-or-death arena.
Chun Chun is just this young master making a fool of a clown.
The Zou family members' faces were as black as the bottom of a pot, while Chu Hongyuan was already planning how to take over the five cities they had won.
