Chapter 110 Dragon Scales
Chapter 110 Dragon Scales
"Why are you all so wary of me? I'm not some frivolous dragon, right, Bai Jie?" Ao Bing said, then tried to get close to Bai Jie and hug him.
Bai Jie quietly moved back, away from Ao Bing's groping behavior.
Ao Bing felt a little embarrassed when he realized that his intentions had been seen through.
"Ahem, in that case, let's part ways here. I just got back from the South, so I won't be going there. I'll come back to visit you later," Ao Bing said after coughing twice.
In reality, whenever the South was mentioned, he would think of a killer with a striking back view. He never expected that after so many years away, he would be brought down by that place.
Sibuxiang and Miantao breathed a sigh of relief when they heard that Ao Bing didn't plan to come along. Luckily, he wasn't coming. If he had suggested it and Bai Jie had agreed, it would have been even more troublesome.
"These roasted meats are for you to eat, right?" Ao Bing revealed his tail and took the pile of roasted meats.
"No need, we just ate," said Sibuxiang on behalf of Bai Jie and Mian Tao.
Ao Bing glanced at the Four-Faced Beast and thought to himself that this Qilin really didn't know what was good for it.
“As far as I know, Qilin don’t eat meat, right? Maybe they’re not full!” Ao Bing said.
"No! We're already full! Bai Jie, let's go!" Mian Tao refused directly and tugged at Bai Jie's tail, urging him to hurry up.
Bai Jie smiled helplessly; it was quite troublesome.
However, it's time to leave. I just came out for a stroll; it wouldn't be good to go back too late.
"We're leaving now. Other beasts are waiting for us to return. We'll meet again someday," Bai Jie said politely. Although Ao Bing did indeed have the makings of a pervert, it was ultimately his racial 'advantage,' so she couldn't say anything about it.
As long as this guy doesn't act forcefully or show any hostility towards his group of beasts, he's quite willing to make friends.
He remembered reading the comics before, and he thought that Ao Bing had two children with a tile cat outside, and their names were... what were they again? Bai Jie couldn't quite remember, maybe something like "half a cat, eight taels"? No, no, that didn't sound right.
He scratched his head, deciding to take a look at the comics again while the other beasts were away in the dream world, as he hadn't read them in a long time and had forgotten a bit.
Ao Bing was killed in the Investiture of the Gods because Nezha pulled out his dragon tendons. He was basically just a minor character.
This dragon seems to be of decent character; perhaps we can save it or something.
Ao Bing felt a little regretful. Was he really leaving so soon? Was his identity as the third prince of the East Sea Dragon King really that unattractive to beasts?
"Alright, then we'll meet again sometime." Ao Bing sighed.
Bai Jie nodded and prepared to leave.
"Wait," Ao Bing said again.
Bai Jie and her three beasts stopped.
"What, you can't come along!" Cotton Peach threatened, baring her teeth.
“…” Ao Bing was a little speechless. Was it really necessary to be so wary of him?
"Bai Jie, here you go!" Ao Bing tossed something to Bai Jie.
Bai Jie caught it steadily, and when she opened her claws, she saw that it was a dragon scale.
“Here you go. If you want to contact me again, you can crush this dragon scale,” Ao Bing explained.
"!" Cotton Peach and Si Bu looked at each other, both thinking that this was not a good thing, and they should throw it away.
"Okay." Bai Jie put the dragon scale into her storage space, and then they parted ways with Ao Bing.
On the way, Miantao and Sibuxiang were both advising Bai Jie to throw away the dragon scales, saying that if Ao Bing added some kind of tracking or poison to them, what would happen!
Bai Jie was tired of hearing this. He had checked the dragon scale and there were no other traps or anything like that. It might have a positioning function, but not much. It would only be available under specific circumstances, such as when Ao Bing crushed the dragon scale.
The three beasts, Bai Jie and her companions, returned to the camp late at night and shared their recent experiences with the other beasts.
"Ao Bing? I've heard of him. He's a dragon who likes to flirt with women," Bai Ze said when he heard the name Ao Bing.
Cotton Peach's father looked at Bai Jie warily. What kind of magic did this golden Pixiu possess that not only bewitched his beloved daughter but could also bewitch other dragons?
“Indeed, it’s obvious,” Bai Jie said, shrugging her hands.
"Alright, it's late, you can go to sleep now. We still have to travel tomorrow," Bai Jie continued.
He found a comfortable position and fell asleep in Sibuxiang's arms.
. . .
The next day.
They began their journey once again.
Bai Jie also found out in her dream last night that the two cat-dragons and the dragon-cat are named Erliang and Bajin.
They were two pitiful children who had been searching for their father for thousands of years, only to find that their father had become a dragon tendon.
Ao Bing is no longer in the mountains; he left last night to continue flying towards his own Dragon Palace.
Bai Jie stood atop the Four-Faced Beast's head, enjoying the incoming wind, and pondered the general course of the future in her mind.
Another day's journey has passed.
As evening approached, the sky gradually darkened.
"Whoosh~"
An arrow flew past from below, but it wasn't aimed at them.
"Huh? Did we change our route? There didn't seem to be any human tribes here before." Bai Jie looked at the two human tribes fighting below.
"Yes, I took a shorter route," Bai Ze said, nodding without hiding anything.
"That's great." Bai Jie had no objections; it was nice to get home earlier.
He could hear the noisy commotion of the humans below, even Bai Jie and the others could hear it from the air.
"It's so noisy, let's get out of here quickly?" Bai Jie suggested.
"There's nothing we can do about it. Humans are always fighting amongst themselves. Large-scale conflicts are probably less common, but small-scale ones like this seem to happen from time to time," Bai Ze explained. He also disliked noise.
"That's true." Bai Jie didn't deny it.
Looking down at the human tribe, he remembered that he had been trying to find out why his faith power had grown naturally.
Can we still find Bai Ze now that he's in a different location?
Bai Ze seemed to have figured out what Bai Jie was thinking.
"It's just this section of the road; it won't affect the general direction," Bai Ze said patiently.
"Thank you." Bai Jie nodded.
Cotton Bok was already asleep on her father's head, and Zhujian was also asleep hugging the little grass on his tail.
It seems I'll have to wake them up later; this is a good opportunity to leave this human tribe.
"Four-Faced Beast, thank you for your hard work." Bai Jie patted Four-Faced Beast's head.
"It's nothing~ When Little Blue Circle and Little Plum Blossom sat on me before, there was the sea below for several days, and I didn't sleep then~" Four-Faced Beast squinted and smiled.
Mythical beasts won't go through the wringer even if they don't sleep or eat for several days; their divine power will just decrease slightly, and they'll have more difficulty concentrating.
"You don't need to sleep here, just find a place that's far away and open."
