Chapter 1061 1061: Meg's Impossible Gains - Running Away?!
Chapter 1061 1061: Meg's Impossible Gains - Running Away?!
As the last remaining Origami Pokemon died, shredded to pieces after killing over a hundred thousand mutated beasts, Meg knew the time had come.
Stationed in a single file behind her were her last Origami Elves, thirty in number, all wielding Top-level Uncommon Grade Bows.
One of the Origami Elves, looking exactly like Legolas, the major Storyline Character from the Lord of the Rings Bubble, wielded Jet Wing, the same Item that His Majesty had gifted her… seemingly ages ago, when they had been crossing the Narrow Sea on Actaea.
If she had been an ordinary 3rd Set Contestant, then Jet Wing would have been enough to let her survive and thrive, even letting her ascend to the heights of the 9th Floor before losing its efficacy.
However, as one of the White Serpents, the situations where she could use Jet Wing had long ceased to exist.
Presently, the bow in her hand looked anything but magical.
It was a longbow, sturdy, but radiating no Mana or Breath.
However, this was the exact bow that allowed Meg to let her Pokemon and Tailed Beast loose, without needing their assistance to safeguard her.
Being a Contestant whose Stats leaned extremely toward Mana and Breath, Meg lacked the corresponding Stats in her Physical Attributes.
The bow in her hands, though, let her fill that gap.
Meg noticed both Quilava and Croconaw getting buried by mutated beasts.
She noticed as Matatabi, fueled by indignation, anger, and pride, fired one Tailed Beast Bomb's worth of attack, draping a sheet of redness over the scorched earth as explosions BOOMED across the Forest Vault.
Then, she saw the unimaginable happen.
Meg's eyes popped out as she held her longbow, her pupils reflecting the geysers of lava and water.
Those geysers reached the sky and penetrated right through the ashy, thundering clouds, dissipating them.
For the first time since the war had started, the Forest Vault's faux sky drowned the battlefield with its blue radiance.
And, in that radiance, the two evolved Pokemon stood, spatial tears slithering around their incomprehensible existences.
Even Matatabi halted her slaughter, staring at the… pets.
On one side stood Typhlosion, clad in a cloak of flames, his fire seeping into the spatial tears and consuming the void.
Feraligatr stood on the other side, becoming the living manifestation of madness and bloodthirst.
"B-…" Meg wondered aloud, stunned, the Notification flashing in her eyes. "… How…"
Even if the Harry Potter timeline's status had surpassed C+ Grade, and it could theoretically tolerate existences from even the 11th Floor, its official Overall Grade was still C+.
This meant that external entities, such as Pokemon and other Magical Creatures, could not rise above a C+ Grade.
That was the sole reason for His Majesty to go as far as to butcher hundreds of Contestants during the Night of Truce, to let Selene come into being… as a B- Grade anomaly.
Because the B-grade itself specified something.
Threat.
Raw, existential threat.
At this moment, the two Pokemon easily held the same strength as that of a Top-level 10th Floor Contestant.
Or…
As Meg herself was only an 8th Floor Contestant, perhaps… she wasn't the right person to judge just how strong her Pokemon had become?
The moment Croconaw evolved to B- Grade Feraligatr and Quilava evolved to B- Grade Typhlosion, their heads snapped, their gazes landing somewhere far away, a heaviness settling over their senses.
Together, the two Pokemon looked back at their Master.
And Meg had a feeling.
Feraligatr and Typhlosion were suggesting that she… run!
As if that feeling itself was a cue, all the remaining mutated beasts, easily standing at half a million, rushed toward the two Pokemon.
No…
Meg instantly knew that was bad news.
Both of them needed a moment to stabilize their growth.
Even if she had to run, she wouldn't be leaving the two of them behind.
So, burying the sinking feeling in her heart that suggested something had scared her two B- Grade Pokemon, Meg drew the string of her bow, the Elves behind her doing the same.
There was no arrow.
Nor did this bow need one.
Because this bow was a Top-level Rare Grade… Named Item — Bow of Legolas!
A TWANG went off as Meg let go of the string.
Instantly, arrows began appearing in the sky.
There were only thirty at first, representing the number of Elves behind Meg.
Then, they became sixty…
Then, they became a hundred and twenty…
And they kept multiplying until their number reached nearly two hundred and fifty thousand!
The arrows blanketed the blueness of the sky.
Then, hissing and roaring, they fell over the mutated beasts.
Bloody squelches rang across the Forest Vault as each arrow found a target, exploding it to smithereens.
Of course, the arrows weren't nearly enough to kill all the beasts.
But Meg had done her part, instantly taking out three Pokeballs as her Origami Elves disintegrated.
Typhlosion's eyes had become fire.
The flame on his back, which had been roaring red before, slowly became white.
Earth melted under his feet, the spatial cracks surrounding him lengthening, spewing black and blue bolts of lightning.
Feraligatr's body once again gained a blue aura.
But this time, the very earth sank under his feet as if a mountain had appeared there suddenly.
Typhlosion pulled back his head, his mouth carrying a white spark as he opened it.
Feraligatr pulled back its right hand, gathering all the blue aura at its tip.
Sensing something amiss, Matatabi stared into the distance… beyond the incoming wave of beasts, and opened her mouth — deciding to use the last Tailed Beast Bomb!
Then, it happened.
Fueled by Superpower, Feraligatr punched, creating a shockwave that pulled all the spatial cracks into it as it went forward.
A ray of light, pure white in color, left Typhlosion's mouth as he used Overheat.
Matatabi fired the Tailed Beast Bomb, the mass of blackness shattering space.
And, the three attacks disappeared into the Forest Vault's depths, their aftershocks annihilating the entire wave of remaining mutated beasts.
Meg instantly used her Pokeballs to recall the three Pokemon and ran…
… a black and white sun appearing in the background, ripping the Forest Vault apart at the seams!
