Chapter 1106: You Shouldn’t Have Messed With Her
Chapter 1106: You Shouldn’t Have Messed With Her
Vincent’s blunt and forthright words took Owen and Stella by surprise."That’s enough." Stella admonished Vincent before Owen could respond, her gaze towards Vincent filled with a hint of anger: "Don’t make me regret having known you."
Stella left those words behind and hailed a taxi to leave.
Owen, worried, wanted to catch up, but Vincent stopped him, his voice cool as he said, "You shouldn’t meddle with her."
Owen, somewhat dissatisfied, retorted to Vincent, "You were really rude just now."
Vincent replied indifferently, "I was just telling you some truths."
Owen said, "I don’t care about those. Her willingness to be involved with you means she once wanted to entrust her future to you, but you let her down. Now, you have no right to stir up her affairs."
Owen’s words left Vincent momentarily speechless.
After all, he truly hadn’t been there when Stella needed him, and the promises he made to her had never seen fulfillment.
The initially joyful gathering turned awkward because of this matter.
Several elders skirted around the topic of Stella while catching up, and Owen and Vincent both appeared preoccupied.
"I’m finished, you all take your time," Vincent put down his chopsticks and stood.
Mom Warner frowned and questioned him, "Where are you going?"
"There’s something I need to handle." With that, Vincent picked up the jacket from the back of the chair and headed towards the room’s door.
Mom Warner unhappily followed him out, only calling him to stop when they were in the hallway: "Going to find that woman?"
Vincent stopped, turned to look at her: "I’ve already married Chloe as you wished, and I’ve obtained the shares I should."
"I didn’t stop you from divorcing Chloe, but you can’t marry a scandalous woman! Shane Warner married the precious daughter of The Suttons, what will you have to compare with them in the future?!"
Vincent looked coldly at his mother: "Why should I compare myself to Shane? Stella is not a scandalous woman. I want to live the rest of my life according to my own wishes, not as a pawn in your hand."
"A pawn?! Everything I do is for your own good!"
"You are doing it for yourself." Vincent turned away, speaking as he left, "If you dare to trouble Stella again, I’ll transfer all my shares to Shane. I hope you stop interfering in my affairs and enjoy your later years."
Mom Warner was so furious she was momentarily speechless, yet she knew her son was truly capable of doing such a thing.
Ultimately, she only shouted at Vincent’s back, "I will never accept her!"
Vincent didn’t even turn back and replied, "Then it depends on whether you’d prefer to have an extra daughter-in-law or lose a son."
Stella had just gotten home when the doorbell rang.
Through the electronic peephole by the door, she saw Vincent standing outside, but she didn’t open the door.
She was still angry because of what he had said.
It made her feel that the period when she had given him everything without reservation was so foolish.
The doorbell rang twice, Stella pretended she wasn’t home, put on headphones, and lay in her room watching a comedy to drive away the gloom in her heart.
Until rain started falling outside, reminding her of the clothes she hadn’t collected from the balcony, which prompted her to get up and collect them.
Then she leisurely proceeded to move a few potted plants from beside the porch to under the eaves.
Thinking Vincent had surely left long ago, she was surprised to find him still standing under the porch when she opened the door.
