Chapter 1114: Then Can You Marry Me?
Stella Charlie just looked at him with tears in her eyes, not admitting, yet also not denying. To be honest, over the years she also thought she had completely moved on, but every time Vincent Warner appeared, no matter how indifferent and resolute she acted, his presence still unsettled her heart.
Without waiting for Stella Charlie’s answer, Vincent Warner eagerly wanted to express his emotions, his large hand slipped under her clothes, the scorching warmth on his hand branding Stella Charlie’s waist, making her instantly react.
Stella Charlie grabbed his firm wrist to stop his actions: "Don’t make me hate you."
Vincent Warner was momentarily stunned and slowly withdrew his hand, but didn’t increase the distance between them.
"What should I do for you to forgive me?"
Stella Charlie looked at him with tearful eyes and said, "Why do you think I would forgive you? Why can you still so righteously ask me to be with you?"
Vincent Warner tightly pulled her into his embrace: "I don’t want us to leave any regrets. I know you haven’t completely let me go either. Life is short, don’t miss it again, okay?"
"Stella..."
He gently called her name, as if they were back in the time when they loved each other the most.
Stella Charlie buried herself in his arms, sobbing uncontrollably, and Vincent Warner tenderly kissed away the tears at the corners of her eyes again and again.
The cold winter night quickly gave way to dawn, and Stella Charlie lay motionless in Vincent Warner’s embrace, drifting into a deep slumber with endless exhaustion in the morning after.
Vincent Warner, however, seemed completely awake, holding her tightly, unwilling to close his eyes for even a moment.
The workday alarm rang punctually at eight-thirty. Even though Vincent Warner immediately helped her turn off the alarm, Stella Charlie, who had always been disciplined, still woke up.
"Sleep a little more," Vincent Warner murmured softly, holding her tightly.
Stella Charlie let him hold her, her back facing Vincent Warner, her vacant gaze falling outside the floor-to-ceiling window of the room, muttering, "What do you think it means when a girl is willing to have a relationship with a guy?"
Vincent Warner’s arm froze slightly as he hugged her, and he lowered his head, resting his chin on her crown, seriously answering, "It means the girl must really love him."
Stella Charlie smiled, but her smile made Vincent Warner feel a bit uneasy, as she said lightly, "Not entirely true. If it’s a girl in the throes of first love, then surely, she really loves that guy, just like I did before. But now I think such things are just adult physical needs; no matter how passionate the night is, the day still ends with separation."
After speaking, Stella Charlie sat up from Vincent Warner’s embrace, picked up the clothes scattered by the bedside and began to put them on, her back to him: "But I don’t like such things. Let’s... end it here."
Vincent Warner frowned unhappily, stepped forward and tugged her arm, turning her around: "I’m not here for that kind of thing. If you don’t like it, I can control myself in the future. I want to start over with you, not end it here."
Stella Charlie’s eyes were moist and red, yet they were full of smiles. She looked up at him and asked, "Then can you marry me? Or do you just want to trick me into being your secret lover again, talking about love while also dating other women and getting married?"
Hearing Stella Charlie speak of her concerns, Vincent Warner instead breathed a sigh of relief.
He took Stella Charlie’s hand, looked into her eyes, and earnestly said, "Do you have your documents here? I’ll take you to the marriage registry right now."
Stella Charlie was momentarily stunned, unsure if Vincent Warner was serious or joking.
"Stella, since I’ve decided to come back for you, I’ve prepared for everything and I won’t leave you for anything again."
