Chapter 24 Discharge from the Hospital
In the hospital ward, Zhong Xiaoqin and Wang Wenwen each had a bed, while Chen Yu sat on a caregiver's stool between them.
"It's all my fault. If I hadn't insisted on going to that underwater world, none of you would have ended up injured and hospitalized," Chen Yu said, offering his self-criticism.
After the incident, the scenic area quickly called the police and an ambulance. Together with Chen Yu, who happened to be there, they took Wang Wenwen and Zhong Xiaoqin to the emergency room. They were quickly examined. The most serious injuries were a minor rib fracture on their back and some ligament sprains in their ankles. The rest were muscle tissue contusions. Chen Yu listened to the doctor's instructions. Wang Wenwen's problem wasn't too serious, but the fracture was in an awkward location. The parents of the three children have come to visit and apologize. All three have promised to compensate for all medical expenses and lost wages, and each family will also contribute 80,000 yuan as compensation for emotional distress.
All three children were raised by their grandmothers, as their parents were always busy and rarely home. Zhong Xiaoqin was gently lifted up by Chen Yu and slowly carried away on the stretcher. Inside the medical transport vehicle, Chen Yu asked the two, "How should we assign rooms?"
The two women were taken aback; they hadn't considered this question.
"How about this, you each take one room first, and I'll go tidy up the third room. I'll stay in that room for a while."
“Brother Xiaoyu, Wenwen and I can be together. I can even take care of her.” Zhong Xiaoqin felt even more sorry for Wang Wenwen.
The caregiver, however, had a different opinion: "It's best not to. You also have a bone and joint injury and are not able to move around easily. I'm afraid that you might get injured yourself while you're not taking good care of her!"
After some discussion, they finally agreed to Chen Yu's plan.
The caregiver accompanied the three people back to Linjiang Xianfu. The property management staff, seeing the transfer vehicle, mistook it for an ambulance and sent someone to assist the medical staff.
