Chapter 1784 - 58: Plague Temple (Part 4)_2
Returning Sea Divine Skill, Thousand-Spin Cold Ice Break!
A beam of white light blossomed from Zhang Xiaoman’s palm, powerful Frost Power adhered to his right hand, accompanied by a twentyfold increase in strength from the Heaven-Piercing Art. The terrifying explosive power hit the temple’s door, merging with the energy previously infused by the Flame Chaotic Dance, instantly blasting a large hole into the door.
The hole in the temple’s door seemed to possess some sort of magic, rapidly healing. Zhang Xiaoman seized the opportunity and darted inside, entering the temple before it could fully repair.
This scene was also witnessed by Alman and the others outside. The Plague Guards, who had been continuously entangled with them, decisively abandoned the assault and turned to chase towards the temple.
The Rothschild family was now suffering heavy casualties, with fewer than five survivors, and several elders killed in battle, the remaining severely injured.
Zhang Xiaoman dashed into the temple, greeted by a dimly lit grand hall. The architectural style inside was somewhat reminiscent of what he had seen on the Phantom Spirit Star, adorned all over with peculiar patterns and symbols.
The interior space of the grand hall was ample, more spacious than imagined. In the center lay a vast garden, housing a divine statue and a yellowed pool.
Zhang Xiaoman glanced at the pool, though it appeared calm, he could sense the powerful Spiritual Energy fluctuating within, clearly not an ordinary object.
Beyond this, the temple surprisingly lacked additional rooms. Despite occupying a large area, it contained only the garden in front of them, with nothing else aside.
Zhang Xiaoman looked up at the divine statue, depicting a tall humanoid creature, resembling the Plague Guards outside, except it had six arms, each holding a differently shaped weapon. Sadly, it had only one head, otherwise it would somewhat resemble the mythical three-headed, six-armed figures from the Water Blue Star folklore.
"Help me, please help me..."
Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed once more within the temple. Zhang Xiaoman had heard it on the temple’s outskirts before, but not for some time until he ventured inside.
"Strange voice... Where is it coming from?"
He looked around, but the entire temple contained solely this garden and no additional rooms, making it initially difficult to pinpoint the source of the Divine Thought.
Yet, just like before, after uttering a single plea, the voice vanished, resembling a sporadic and feeble moan.
"Boom!"
At that moment, the sound of stone scraping echoed from the direction of the temple door—the Plague Guards had caught up.
Zhang Xiaoman knew he had no time to waste; he had to place the Star Alliance Marker and conceal it before the Plague Guards entered, allowing him to teleport back at will later.
"This place is too exposed, it’s really hard to hide..."
Quickly surveying the surroundings without finding any hiding place, he grew anxious.
"Forget it, the most dangerous place is the safest one!"
Gritting his teeth, he leaped to the back of the divine statue, deftly tossing out a marker and affixing it, immediately followed by several Concealment Aura arrays.
"Success!"
He swiftly distanced himself from the statue, turning to look at the temple door.
Just then, the Plague Guards burst in, instantly spotting him and charging toward him.
Without hesitation, Zhang Xiaoman activated Unlimited Teleportation and vanished from the scene after a five-second delay, leaving the befuddled Plague Guards standing there.
Outside, Zhang Xiaoman’s figure silently reappeared on a barren planet, a place he used to test the power of his skills, unknowable to others.
Wiping a drop of sweat from his forehead, he couldn’t help but feel amazed by the guards’ ferocity upon his temple entry; their battle strength had increased by at least 50% compared to outside.
"Hope they didn’t find my Star Alliance Marker; that Concealment Aura is a benefit I got from Ni Yang, it shouldn’t be easily exposed."
Zhang Xiaoman pondered for a moment, then activated his teleportation skill’s perception ability to monitor the temple’s interior activities.
The Unlimited Teleportation skill allowed for sensing the conditions within a hundred-meter radius before confirming teleportation, effectively serving as a surveillance method.
Within Zhang Xiaoman’s perception, all Plague Temple Guards had stopped moving, seemingly with Alman and co. departing, leaving them aimless.
"Lucky for me, they didn’t discover my hidden marker..."
He secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
"But seriously, where did these guys come from? How are they revived?"
Zhang Xiaoman questioned internally, continuing his investigation into the temple’s interior.
About an hour passed, as Zhang Xiaoman grew impatient and considered ceasing his perception, the Plague Guards finally stirred.
He watched as the monsters each brandished their long spears, formed ranks, and headed toward the pool in the garden center.
Soon they kept walking straight into the pool and then vanished.
Zhang Xiaoman was stunned; these monsters must have emerged from the pool, likely reviving after being killed.
However, this introduced new questions; the temple’s emptiness was surprising—no Secret Treasure, desired Divine Domain Skills, nor even usable Dark Spiritual Material. Could it be that, besides the construction materials outside and Soul Summoning Stone, the temple holds no other value?
Zhang Xiaoman refocused his gaze on the temple interior, though this state of observation remained indistinct, only allowing vague impressions.
"The Soul Summoning Stone is impressive, but comparatively I want skills that fuse with Divine Domain; Ni Yang’s current revival status is unstable, my luck on obtaining true Divine Skills from him before was fortunate, I can’t rely solely on him for strength..."
Within his perception, the temple remained barren, apart from the statue, solely housing a pool of unknown purpose.
"Since the pool water can revive Plague Guards, it surely isn’t ordinary water. I could collect some to share with Naphaya and Ziwei; it might turn out to be quite valuable..."
Still reluctant, Zhang Xiaoman decided to target the yellowed pool water.
"Wait a moment... What if those Plague Guards aren’t revived from the water, but... beneath it!?"
A brilliant idea struck him, recalling the Plague Guards entering the pool, suddenly sparking a new possibility.
If the temple held nothing, Zhang Xiaoman would find it hard to believe.
Regardless, it was the Plague God’s lair, close to a Middle Extraordinary Level entity, having nothing but a bare home would be embarrassing.
Thus, Zhang Xiaoman speculated it wasn’t that the temple lacked treasures, but he hadn’t truly accessed its interior!
The pool water wasn’t some Resurrection Spring Water, but the actual entrance to the temple’s interior!
